In January and February, the average temperature is 16C to 24C, and 25C to 29C is in July and August. The rainy seasons are from May to October. End of the Earth is located 23km west from Sanya downtown. It faces the sea with mailing mountain as the background. Long long ago, a young hunter lived in Wuzhi Mountain, who was brave, hard?working and warmhearted. One day, he found a beautiful deer when he was hunting. Wuzhizhou Island lying in Haitang Bay, around 40 km north to Sanya, has an area of 1.48 square km and looks primitive as mountain, sea and forest remaining their natural conditions.
As the island is in a tropical marine zone, the climate is temperate and pleasant all year round. The Island is in irregular shape like a butterfly with clear water and white sand beach, there are well-preserved coral reefs on the seabed undersea. It is good for those who love scuba diving, winter swimming, as well as other water sports include surfing，gliding，sailing and canoeing. For relaxation there is sun bathing and sea water bathing. The Jianfeng Ridge, located in Ledong County in southwestern Hainan Island, is the largest and best preserved tropical rainforest reserve in China. The Jianfeng Ridge Forest Reserve was established in July 1997. The highest peak is 1,412m above sea level, and the lowest is only 200m above sea level.
